Pexels Stock Photography

It’s pretty hard to get good stock photos for a price that a small business can deal with which often times makes web development for local businesses pretty tough. When you do find someplace that offers free or cheap stock photography you then often need to wade through lots of very amateur photos which is understandable. You’re new so you’re trying to get your photography out there, get feedback and progress.

One that I recently found that does a great job of weeding out the chaff is https://www.pexels.com/ which offers completely royalty free stock photography.

This is their license which is crazy fair.

It’s hard to understand complex licenses that is why all photos on Pexels are licensed under the Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license. This means the pictures are completely free to be used for any legal purpose.

The pictures are free for personal and even for commercial use.
You can modify, copy and distribute the photos.
All without asking for permission or setting a link to the source. So that attribution is not required.
The CC0 license was released by the non-profit organization Creative Commons (CC). Get more information about the license on the official license page.
